You’re not mad – you’re just hungry
When being hungry ruins your personality.
You’re not in a bad mood.
You’re just low on carbs.
It’s amazing how many arguments, awkward silences and “what’s your problem?”-moments could’ve been avoided with 15 minutes and a banana.
Low blood sugar makes people irrational.
Impatient. Snappy. Suspicious.
Basically: the worst version of themselves.
What about different colours?
Well. Reds become drill sergeants.
Yellows become overly sarcastic.
Quick tip
Before blaming someone’s attitude – or your own – check the last time someone ate. It might not be a personality flaw. It might be a sandwich shortage.
A colourful moment
During a group coaching session I once conducted, a guy walked out halfway through my slide on stress behaviour.
Later, he came back with a cinnamon bun.
He said: “I wasn’t stressed. I was just starving.”
I said, “You almost bit your manager.”
He nodded. “Still think it was low blood sugar.”
See you next Wednesday.
