When blues meet blue … nothing happens

June 25th, 2025

Blues are brilliant. Precise. Analytical. Organized. Calm. Put two of them in the same room and watch what happens.

Task orientation. Introversion. A drive for detail and quality. Perfection galore.

“Ah, efficiency! Clarity! Logic! This will be perfect.”

And it sure can be.

Eventually. Sooner or later. Finally. In the end.

But first? Silence. Cautious questions. Long pauses.
And a shared fear of saying something unprepared.

Blues don’t rush.
They observe.
They plan how to make plans.
Then double-check those plans. And then plan some more.

So when two blues are tasked with making a decision together, something magical happens: nothing.

At least not right away.
They wait for the other to move.
The other waits back.
Politeness meets overthinking.
Progress takes a coffee break.

Quick tip:

What to do? If you’re blue working with another blue — assign roles early.
Who leads? Who decides?
Don’t wait for clarity to magically appear. Plan for it.

A colourful moment:

A blue co-worker once told me her blue husband likes to “double-confirm” everything.
When she asked why, he said:
“In case one confirmation was based on emotional impulse.”
I asked if she found that annoying.
She said:
“…I hadn’t decided yet.”

See you next Wednesday.
